Shinobi 7 II features a 7-inch HDR screen with a calibrated peak brightness of 2800nits, HDMI input and output, camera control over USB-C, touch to focus, and a suite of professional monitoring tools. It offers stunning 10+ stops of dynamic range in real-time from Log/PQ/HLG signals, 3D LUT support, and an integrated Ethernet connector. The lightweight yet rugged design makes it ideal for various monitoring purposes.
The camera control interface allows for adjustments of common settings on a shot-by-shot basis, with compatibility for most modern mirrorless and DSLR cameras. About the Atomos Shinobi 7 II
Shinobi 7 II combines a larger 7-inch HDR screen, with a calibrated peak brightness of 2800nits, and the lightweight monitor-only functions of Shinobi. Can be used in the brightest of environments to monitor signals up to 4Kp30 via HDMI. Take control of Canon, Fujifilm, Nikon, Panasonic, and Sony cameras via USB-C, plus Z CAM cameras via optional USB-C to serial cable. It’s an ideal director’s monitor, focus puller’s monitor, program or preview display for video switchers.
Camera Control
The camera control interface has been designed with a focus on common settings that need to be adjusted on a shot-by-shot basis.
Harnesses the versatility of USB-C to allow for the widest possible compatibility with most modern mirrorless and DSLR cameras. See website for camera compatibility list.
Set the camera’s focus point from the touchscreen and use on-screen sliders to adjust white balance, lens aperture, shutter speed/angle and ISO with immediate and responsive access to these settings.
Red border indicates when the camera is recording internally, whether triggered by the camera or from Shinobi 7 II.
The shutter-release function lets you take photos directly from Shinobi’s touchscreen – particularly useful when shooting multiple exposures for HDR bracketing, focus stacking, or similar workflows.
Outdoor/daylight shooting
The exceptionally bright 2800-nit display makes it easier to assess contrast, exposure, and focus when shooting outdoors in bright sunlight. HDR monitoring and comprehensive exposure tools also help users identify clipped highlights, crushed blacks, and other image problems when capturing high-dynamic-range scenes.
Director’s monitor
The large, bright display gives directors, focus pullers, and script supervisors a clear view of the image on set. Its portable design makes it easy to reposition as camera angles and production requirements change.
Log/HDR workflows
When shooting in Log, Shinobi 7 II can preview how the image may appear after grading. HDR conversion, scopes, and LUT support help users make more informed exposure and composition decisions on set.
High-Brightness 7-inch touchscreen display
With 2800 nits of brightness and a 1920 × 1200 resolution, Shinobi 7 II delivers clear, detailed monitoring indoors or outside in bright sunlight. It supports Rec.709, PQ and HLG monitoring for HDR and Log workflows.
Camera control & touch-to-focus
Using intuitive, on-screen sliders you can adjust white balance, lens aperture, shutter speed/angle and ISO. A red edge display indicates when the camera is recording internally, whether triggered by the camera or from the Shinobi 7 II. Control most Canon, Fujifilm, Nikon, Panasonic, and Sony mirrorless cameras over USB-C, and all Z CAM E2 series models (LANC cable required, purchased separately). Tap the Shinobi 7 II touchscreen to have the camera automatically focus on your point of interest. Touch to focus takes advantage of camera focus modes such as focus tracking for effortless control and sharp images.

Professional monitoring tools
Shinobi 7 II offers a comprehensive suite of simple, one-touch monitoring tools for focus, framing, and exposure, including focus peaking, zoom (2:1, 1:1), zebras, EL Zone™ false colour, frame guides, SMPTE safe areas, grid markers, waveforms, an RGB parade, vectorscope, and flexible 3D/1D LUT support with profile and preset options (including .cube file uploads). It also offers anamorphic de-squeeze monitoring to correct the ratio for anamorphic lens setups, and 16:9 framing for social media.
EL Zone
Shinobi 7 II supports EL Zone, a professional false colour exposure tool that helps you see exactly how bright or dark different parts of your image are. Unlike traditional false colour systems that use rough IRE ranges, EL Zone assigns specific colours to exact exposure values — based on stops of light, in the same way your camera sees exposure. It’s a precise and consistent way to expose your image correctly every time.
LUTs
Shinobi 7 II can receive LOG signals from the camera and provide real-time LUT (Look‑Up Table) preview to approximate what the final graded image will look like in Rec.709. Custom LUTs (.cube files) can be loaded from SD card and used in conjunction with the built‑in monitoring tools for precise exposure control.

High dynamic range
You can view 10+ stops of dynamic range from Log/PQ/HLG signals. Shinobi’s unique HDR monitoring features help you simplify the complexities of shooting Log and HDR, because it is possible to replicate post-production workflows when it matters most – while you are shooting.
High fidelity
Calibration is the key to a trustworthy monitor. Shinobi 7 II monitors can be calibrated with Calibrite Display Pro HL / Plus HL probe, and using the Atomos Calibrator app, to maintain accurate HDR and Rec.709 monitoring. Accurate monitoring ensures reliable results.
Connect, monitor and control
HDMI input and output make Shinobi 7 II easy to integrate into a camera rig or pass the signal through to another display. USB-C connectivity adds compatible camera control, allowing you to adjust key settings directly from the monitor’s touchscreen.
