The Nanlite Rapid series softboxes, including the Rapid 90 Parabolic Softbox and Rapid 120 Parabolic Softbox, are designed to enhance on-set lighting efficiency and provide creators with precise control over light and shadow. These softboxes feature an innovative rapid-latch speed ring for quick installation, allowing for setup in just 5 seconds. The collapsible design makes breakdown equally fast, ideal for fast-paced productions and larger sets.
The interiors of the rapid 90 and rapid 120 softboxes intensify light while reducing light loss and color shift. They come with standard and lite diffusers for flexible light shaping options, as well as an eggcrate for directional control. The durable build of these softboxes, with high-carbon steel ribs and wear-resistant oxford cloth, ensures stability and longevity. Equipped with a universal Bowens mount, the rapid 90 and rapid 120 softboxes are compatible with a variety of light fixtures and can be easily transported in their included carrying bags for outdoor shooting.

About the Nanlite Rapid 120 Parabolic Softbox
The use of lighting is crucial in productions, and the utilization of modifiers is essential in light shaping. Effective modifiers can significantly enhance on-set lighting efficiency while allowing creators to finely control between light and shadow. Based on this, the Nanlite Rapid series softboxes are introduced.
The initial launch comes with the Rapid 90 Parabolic Softbox (SB-RP90) and Rapid 120 Parabolic Softbox (SB-RP120). Compared to traditional quick release softboxes, this new series not only maintains professional-grade light shaping performance but also features an innovative rapid-latch speed ring that further improves operational efficiency, making rapid installation possible.
Rapid Setup
The rapid 90 and rapid 120 parabolic softboxes are designed with Nanlite’s innovative rapid-latch speed ring, redefining rapid setup. With a single pull-and-press movement, the speed ring effortlessly locks in place. The only remaining step is to attach the diffusion fabric using hook and loop fasteners, and the entire setup can be completed within 5 seconds.
Collapsing a Rapid series parabolic softbox is even quicker: just hold the handle and pull the trigger and it will fold in just 1 second. The quick, simple setup and breakdown make the rapid 90 and rapid 120 ideal for fast-paced production, news, documentaries. Larger productions will also find the Rapid series softbox ideal when there are many softboxes to rig on set.
Intensified yet Soft Light
The interiors of the rapid 90 and rapid 120 parabolic softboxes feature reflective fabric that intensifies the light, effectively reducing light loss and minimizing color shift. A standard diffuser and a lite diffuser are included, offering flexible options for shaping light to meet different requirements. The diffusers are made of high-density material, providing a more even diffusing effect. An eggcrate is included that can further control the direction and spread of the light, making it ideal for lighting the subject with minimal spill on other areas.
Durable Build
The rapid 90/120 parabolic softboxes feature an integrated design with a speed ring, ribs, and diffusion fabric, providing stability while eliminating the hassle of handling multiple components, making installation and storage quicker and easier. The softbox evenly distributes pressure when subjected to external forces thanks to the support of 16 reliable high-carbon steel ribs. These reduce the risk of deformation and enhance the wind resistance of each softbox when used outdoors. The diffusion fabric is made from durable and wear resistant oxford cloth, designed to withstand the rigors of on-set use.
Universal Bowens Mount
The rapid 90 and rapid 120 parabolic softboxes are equipped with a Bowens mount, making them not only compatible with Nanlite Forza, FC and FS series fixtures, but also with other Bowens mount light fixtures in the market. The superior quality of light source and the soft lighting of softbox complement each other, providing users with a more satisfying lighting experience.
Easy Portability
After being collapsed, the rapid 90/120 parabolic softboxes can be folded flat, significantly saving space. Each comes with a carrying bag for convenient storage and easy portability during outdoor shooting.
