ARRI has released a new line of 1000 Hz High Speed Ballasts that offer all the features of standard electronic ballasts, plus some additional ones. These ballasts provide flicker-free light up to 5000 fps with multiple sources, and also have a special Flickerfree Mode for low noise operation. They come in a blue standard housing with a handle and are small, compact, and lightweight. They have a double wattage of 575 and 800 W bulbs and can automatically detect which one is connected. The frequency can be controlled to choose between low noise, flicker-free, or high speed. They also feature CCL technology and ALF for power-saving, continuous dimming from 50 to 100%, and DMX control with an easy-to-use display. The ballasts are designed for the M8 and can also be used with 575 W lampheads.

About the ARRI L2.76184KH 1000hz Ballast
Specially designed for the M8 is ARRI’s new small and lightweight EB 575/800 ballast, which can also be used with 575 W lampheads. In common with other new-generation ballasts from ARRI, it features CCL (Compensation for Cable Loss) technology and the power-saving ALF (Active Line Filter). The DMX-compatible EB 575/800 o!ers continuous dimming from 50 to 100% and a choice of four frequency modes for low noise (50 / 60 Hz), “icker-free (75 Hz) or High Speed (1,000 Hz) operating – all in a robust, easy-to-use package.EB 575/800 recognizes the connected luminaire by the lamphead, not by the inserted lamp
ARRI are pleased to introduce a new generation of 1000 Hz High Speed Ballasts that accept the challenge of modern digital high-speed photography with ease.
With the new 1000 Hz High Speed Ballasts it is easy to achieve high quality flicker free images even at frame rates of 1000 fps and in many cases beyond even with a single HMI daylight source. This new technology supplies the lamp with a greatly raised 1000 Hz square wave current, allowing worriless shootings for commercials, sports, industrial applications, automotive component testing, ballistics or material testing.
